Briscas is a very popular card game in Spain. During the game you there is a suit that is trumps (be it coins, cups, swords or clubs) and you have to throw a card into the center each turn and rob another. The cards in the center are compared and the player with the highest card wins. The player that wins throws the first card the next round.
